Medicare Update: Home Health Certification and Recertification

Lauri has 26 years of experience in healthcare to include billing, credentialing, provider relations, case management, and later nursing in the areas of General Medicine, Telemetry, Hemodialysis, and Addiction Medicine. She began her career in the Medicare Program in 2011 as a Nurse Reviewer for Appeals and Grievance at National Government Services. She then worked as a Senior Nurse Reviewer with the Mobile Medical Review Team where she provided on site auditing and education for inpatient hospitals and home health agencies in Jurisdiction K. She currently holds the position of Home Health Clinical Consultant in Jurisdictions 6 and K covering 24 states and territories providing education on current Medicare regulations.

Colin focuses on federal health care program payment and operational issues affecting stakeholders with concerns ranging from licensure and survey and certification issues to complex prospective payment system methodologies and coverage, coding and reimbursement strategies for new services and technologies. He advises stakeholder sectors on novel and evolutionary payment systems changes affecting diverse sectors, including insurers, manufacturers, providers and suppliers at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Kevin Goodno currently serves as Government Relations Council for MHCA. He also has extensive experience in state and local government, non-profit organizations, and the private sector. Prior to joining Fredrikson & Byron, Kevin served as commissioner of Minnesota’s largest agency, the Department of Human Services. Before joining the Department of Human Services, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives for twelve years being recognized for his leadership on health care, human services and tax policy issues. Kevin’s private sector experience includes practicing business and employment law with a Moorhead law firm and owning and operating a retail business. Kevin received his LLM in Taxation and JD in Law from William Mitchell College of Law and his BA from Concordia College.
