Getting Started

Have your training coordinator request "tokens" from MHCA. Send an email to education@mnhomecare.org. Be sure to specify the number of tokens that you want – members are provided with unlimited tokens so if you ever find yourself to need more tokens, simply send us an email request.

Please keep in mind each token is limited to one time use, so they can-not be reissued to new staff. Tokens are used to create the user accounts tied to your agency.

NOTE: You MUST be an active MHCA member to receive and use tokens. If your membership is inactive, you will not be able to receive new tokens and any current user accounts will be deactivated.

Once you’ve been supplied with an RCTCLEARN.NET token from your training coordinator, you may start taking classes ASAP.

  2. Redeem the token

A brief history of the RCTC training program and MHCA -- How did it come about?

In 1999, RCTC received a Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant and one goal of the grant was to create on-line classes for para-professionals. At this same time, MHCA was in the process of building on-line modules. Pat Jump was working with both RCTC and MHCA to provide curriculum and content; seeing the two organizations go down similar paths, she helped make the connection between RCTC and MHCA.

RCTC viewed MHCA as the perfect collaborator and partner, as they had already started down the path to on-line learning. The partnership consisted of RCTC providing the technical expertise and helping with marketing and distribution. MHCA provided feedback testing of the curriculum and system and marketing. In 2004 the MHCA Board added access to the courses as a member benefit. The list of courses available and contact hours awarded has grown each year since then. The success with MHCA has been replicated with eleven other state home care and hospice associations.

How can RCTCLEARN.NET improve agency outcomes?

RCTCLEARN.NET training helps home care professionals be better at their jobs, which in turn improves outcomes. Many RCTCLEARN.NET users have said that the training helped them gain insight into their clients' behavior--understanding is essential to providing good service!

Can members suggest courses that aren’t currently available?

Yes, RCTCLEARN.NET have always used member feedback to help decide what new courses to develop. Each online course survey allows for participants to offer their suggestions on topics they would like to see as on-line courses.
