TB Prevention and Reporting Requirements: Are You Ready for Survey?*
The Minnesota Department of Health has reported that one of the top home care survey citations in the state of Minnesota includes employee documentation of TB screening. In response, MHCA will host a 60-minute webinar on the agency documentation of screening requirements for active TB during orientation and intermittently (based on the agency risk assessment and employee’s report of symptoms). Elisabeth Kingdon, RN from of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will be our guest.

All Home Care Agencies
At the completion of this webinar, the home health participant will be able to:
- Describe three differences between latent TB infection (LTBI) and active TB disease
- List the documentation requirements for TB skin tests and TB blood tests
- Describe the documentation requirements for a healthcare worker with a positive TB skin test or blood test
BETH KINGDON, Planner Principal, STD/HIV/TB Section, Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention, and Control Division, Minnesota Department of Health, St. Paul, MN
Beth Kingdon is a Planner Principal in the STD/HIV/TB Section in the Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention, and Control Division at the Minnesota Department of Health. She has worked for MDH for 16 years and has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health. Her duties include working with the TB Prevention and Control Program on regulatory matters. Beth was the first recipient of the TB Educator of the Year award granted by the national TB Education and Training Network in 2011. She has special interests in health literacy and the history of public health.
